First Foray into Cyber Space as a Blogger

I am hoping that SOMEONE ANYONE will write back and not let me drift lost and helpless in big, scary cyberspace!! I am a mature age student studying part time towards a BA in English and History. So I thought I might see what this blogging is all about!! Ciao for now!

  2. Hi Carole, thank you so much for your comments! It's so great to come across fellow mature aged bloggers (and from Aus, too!). I'm studying Writing and English and when I first started uni last year, I couldn't find anything about studying in mid-life. So decided to start my own blog and low and behold, there's a whole lot of us out there! I have SO enjoyed sharing my experiences with my fellow bloggers and even had the opportunity to meet one in person, whilst I was overseas! I'm continually motivated by other's experiences and their comments about mine. You'll find the study so rewarding and wonder why you didn't do it sooner! I'm looking forward to following your journey through life as a mature aged student!!! Welcome.

  3. By the way...I agree about not feeling any older than some of the recent school leavers at uni - only when I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror! You're only as old as you feel! I also feel the stress of assessment because it's a mature age thing to be a perfectionist!!!! I find the stress is worth it for the good marks!

  4. Yes the stress can be quite debilitating can't it? People say to just relax and it will be ok, but that is no help at all!! I've just got to get through it and then take a big deep breath (and a few during when I think of it!) Trying to work out this blogging thing is interesting - I think I'll just have to learn and improve as I go along.)

  6. Hey nice to hear from you Studentmum. It's great to hear that you've finished your BA in English Lit and have gone on to your MA - how wonderful!! I've just had a quick look at your profile and can see that you're interested in Victorian Lit - I must say a personal favourite of mine as well! I also love 18th Century as well as the Renaissance. I'm not so interested in contemporary literature. Hope all goes well with your studies - it sounds like you're very busy!! P.S. I love the tv show Bones too!
